November 28 is Albania's national holiday, marking the country's independence from the Ottoman Empire declared in 1912. To mark the occasion, our artists present works by Albanian composers Rauf Dhomi and Aleksander Peçi, expertly portraying the sonorities of Albania's traditional music.

In the same year (1912), the great Belgian composer Joseph Jongen, fleeing the Great War, composed in England his sonata op.39 for cello and piano. This season, we celebrate Jongen's 150th anniversary of his birth. A contemporary of Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy, influenced in his 'language' by the 'French school', Jongen left Belgium a great musical heritage, which you can discover at this celebratory evening!

Premier Prix du Concours Reine Elisabeth 2022, Le Soir qualifie le violoncelliste Hayoung Choi de « violoncelliste audacieuse au jeu intense et flamboyant », tandis que le Süddeutsche Zeitung qualifie les performances du pianiste Ben Kim de « pratiquement euphoriques et pleines de vitalité ». Imaginez ces deux artistes sur scène ensemble ! La violoncelliste Hayoung Choi a récemment reçu le premier FENDI Music Award et joue actuellement sur un magnifique violoncelle Goffriller qui lui a été prêté par la Fondation Stradivarius Habisreutinger.
